Why we love Argentina

Tango, Malbec & Patagonian peaks

Passionate, dramatic and larger than life, Argentina is a land of big skies and even bigger landscapes. Tango until the early hours in Buenos Aires, sip Malbec beneath the snow-capped Andes in Mendoza, feel the thunderous spray of Iguazú Falls, watch towering glaciers calve into milky blue lakes in Patagonia, or hike the jagged peaks around El Chaltén. And when the day is done, the asado is waiting – Argentina takes its steak very seriously. ¡Vamos!

Where Argentina could take you

We're good company, and we give great advice

Why travel with Osaviva?

Fewer hotels, chosen well.

Our Argentina list is short on purpose. Every property has earned its place over years, from boutique city hotels to estancias.

Malbec country, our way.

Long winery lunches in Mendoza with the Andes as the backdrop. We know the ones worth the drive.

Patagonia, timed right.

The season is short, roughly October to April, and the best lodges book up early. We'll help you pick the window and grab it.

Don't take our word for it

Signature experiences

Glacier Perito Moreno El Calafate, Argentina

The Andean Northwest

Travel between red-rock valleys, high desert, adobe villages, and the Hill of Seven Colors. Private road journeys reveal Indigenous history, small wineries, and landscapes unlike anywhere else in Argentina.

Iberá wildlife

More FAQ
When is the best time to go?

It depends on the region. Patagonia is best from about October to April. Buenos Aires is loveliest in spring (September to November) and fall (March to May). Mendoza's grape harvest runs February to April, with its harvest festival in early March.

How do we get between regions?

By plane. Argentina is huge: Buenos Aires to El Calafate is about three hours in the air.

What should we know about money?

The currency situation changes often. Cards are widely accepted, and it's handy to carry some US dollars in cash. We'll share current advice before you go.

Which side of Iguazú Falls should we visit?

Both, if you can! They're very different. The Argentine side has more trails and gets you closer to the water. The Brazilian side has the big panoramic views. Check Brazil's current visa rules for your passport.

Tango show or milonga?

A show is polished and staged. A milonga is a real dance hall where locals dance. Our advice? Do one of each!

Do we need to book wineries ahead?

Yes. Most Mendoza wineries take visitors by appointment, and lunches fill up during harvest season.
