More FAQ
What ages work best?

Any age! Kids make the best travel buddies. Toddlers do well with beaches and short drives. Ages 6 to 12 are the sweet spot for wildlife walks and ziplines. Teens can learn to dive (PADI Junior Open Water starts at 10), surf or raft.

Which destinations are easiest with kids?

Costa Rica, Belize, Mexico's Yucatán and Panama. Flights from North America are short, distances are manageable, and there's plenty to do outdoors.

How many stops should we plan?

Two or three for a week to ten days. Three or four nights in each place keeps packing to a minimum.

Can we get connecting rooms?

Some hotels guarantee them only in certain room types, while villas and family suites keep everyone under one roof. We'll tell you which option each hotel offers before you book.

What documents do kids need?

A valid passport for every child. If only one parent is traveling, bring a signed consent letter from the other parent. Airlines and border officers in several countries ask for one.

Should we travel during school holidays?

Christmas, spring break and summer are the busiest family weeks, so book nine to twelve months ahead for those dates. Late June and early July are often quieter in Central America, with green-season rates.
