Your route

Day by day

Where jungle meets Pacific

Emerald Coast

Day 1: Welcome to Nicaragua’s Pacific coast

Arrive in Managua and head south along the Pacific coast to your retreat in a private reserve. Check into your open-air villa overlooking sea and jungle, then spend the afternoon swimming, lounging, or watching the light change across the bay.

Day 2: Horseback trails where jungle meets sea

Head out with your guide on a horseback ride through the reserve, following coastal paths between forest and shore. Later, join a guided nature walk to learn about the surrounding ecosystems and conservation work. Spend the afternoon kayaking, swimming, or relaxing beside your private plunge pool.

Day 3: A lazy day on Pacific shores

Enjoy the day at your leisure: take a dip when conditions allow, walk the sands of Playa Ocotal, lounge beside your private plunge pool, or relax in a hammock while gentle tropical breezes rustle the palm leaves overhead.

Aerial view of a Pacific coast ecolodge with an infinity pool overlooking a secluded Nicaraguan bay.

Lake life among islets and volcanoes

Granada Isletas

Day 4: From Pacific shores to a private lake island

Travel inland to Lake Nicaragua and board a small boat for the final approach to your island lodge beneath Mombacho Volcano. Take in the sights and sounds of the forest as you check into your luxurious retreat. Spend the rest of the day enjoying the lake views.

Day 5: Granada’s colors & Mombacho’s cloud forest

Cross to the mainland for a full day exploring the region. Wander Granada’s colorful streets and markets, browse Masaya’s artisan stalls, then head into Mombacho’s cooler cloud forest for a guided walk. Return to your island lodge by late afternoon for a relaxing evening and lakeside dinner.

Day 6: Find yourself beach-bound

Rise with the dawn, bid farewell to Lake Nicaragua, and transfer to Managua for your flight to Big Corn Island. Continue by boat to Little Corn and check into your rustic beachfront sanctuary on beautiful white sand shores. Time for some well-deserved Caribbean rest and relaxation.

Little Corn Island

Day 7: Sailing & snorkeling with Miskito sailors

This morning, enjoy some of the very best of the Corn Islands: crystalline Caribbean waters, gorgeous island views, and a colorful undersea world. Glide along the coastline in a 40-foot handcrafted sailboat captained by Miskito sailors. Snorkel offshore reefs, then relax on deck with a juicy wedge of watermelon and a cold drink as you sail back to your beachfront retreat.

Day 8: Jungle paths & powdery white sand

After breakfast, today is yours to explore Little Corn. Enjoy spectacular ocean views from your private terrace, take a paddleboard out for a spin, or walk jungle paths beneath mango, coconut, and breadfruit trees to find a quiet stretch of sand for the afternoon.

Day 9: Hit the reset button on Little Corn

Gear down into vacation mode and enjoy a final full day beside the Caribbean. Lounge on the beach, swing in a hammock beneath coconut palms, or stretch out on your terrace as turquoise water glimmers beyond the sand. A little more time to enjoy island paradise.

Day 10: Farewell to the Corn Islands

Transfer by boat to Big Corn Island for your flight to Managua and onward travels. Buen viaje!
